BEIJING, Oct. 24 (Xinhuanet) -- China is ready to work with Hungary to further promote economic exchanges between the two countries, said Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan here Monday.

Zeng said in a meeting with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Somogyi Ferenc that China and Hungary enjoy profound friendship, witness frequent high-level visits and non-governmental exchanges, and constantly expand cooperation in politics, economy and culture.

The Chinese government appreciates Hungary's adherence to one-China policy, and respects Hungary's choice on domestic and foreign policy, said Zeng.

China is willing to join hands with Hungary in enhancing economic cooperation, expanding investment scale and making efforts to achieve balance in bilateral trade, in a bid to push forward the China-Hungary friendly and cooperative partnership, the vice premier said.

Somogyi expressed appreciation for the long-term and stable growth of China's economy, believing that Hungary-China relations will witness all-round development in the new century.

The two sides also exchanged views on making exchanges and cooperation concerning bird flu, World Expo and Olympic Games. Enditem
