Death toll from Pakistan earthquake rises to 53,182

    ISLAMABAD, Oct. 22 (Xinhuanet) --Totaling 53,182 people have been killed and 75,146 others injured in the massive Oct. 8 earthquake, according to Pakistan's disaster relief chief Major General Farooq Ahmad Khan.

    "The casualty figures are now 53,182 dead and 75,146 injured," he told a news conference on Saturday. A day earlier he gave a toll of 51,300 dead and 74,500 injured. Enditem
