SHANGHAI, Oct. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- The remains of Chinese literary master Ba Jin was moved from Huadong Hospital to Longhua Funeral Home, both in Shanghai, Saturday afternoon.

Six workers carried a coffin containing the remains of Ba Jin out of Huadong Hospital at 2:55 p.m. and loaded it onto a hearse heading for the funeral home.

A funeral is scheduled to take place before cremation next Monday afternoon at Longhua Funeral Home, said an earlier report.

Ba Jin, one of China's most respected writers and men of letters, died at the age of 101 in Shanghai 7:06 p.m. Monday after a six-year battle with diseases.

Ba Jin's literary corpus, including "Family," "Spring," "Autumn," "The Trilogy of Love," "A Dream of Sea," "Autumn in Spring," were viewed as a landmark in modern Chinese literature. Enditem
