NANJING, East China, Oct. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- Ren Liping's goal in the second half gave Beijing a 1-0 victory over Liaoning in the women's soccer final at the 10th Chinese National Games on Saturday.

Striker Ren beat an offside trap to score the goal in the 50th minute.

Liaoning, who went down 2-0 to Beijing in the group stage, could have opened the scoring six minutes into the match but Fan Tingting's long-range effort from outside the penalty box was denied by the bar.

Beijing also had a chance of doubling the lead when Liu Sa's shot hit the bar in the 73rd minute.

Liaoning made several substitution in the later stage but Beijing managed to hold on for victory.

Earlier, Shanghai defeated host Jiangsu 1-0 in the bronze medal match. Enditem
