NANJING, East China, Oct. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- Asian record holder Huang Qiuyan claimed the title of women's triple jump for Guangxi at China's 10th National Games here on Friday.

As the double winner at the past two National Games and the "triple jump Queen" of Asia, Huang Qiuyan's dominance in this event is unquestionable.

Huang took triumpth after bursting out a jump of 14.54 meters, a result enough to frustrate other contenders but not as good as the 14.72-meter Asian record set by herself.

"I have prepared to challenge my own record. But the bad weather prevented me from achieving that," lamented Huang after the match.

"I want to have a good rest after going back to Beijing. And I hope to take a gold in the East Asian Games not far away."

Wang Yin attained the silver with 13.96 meters as an individual competitor. Wu Lingmei of Guangdong got the bronze at 13.92 meters.Enditem
