URGENT: US oil firm pleads guilty in connection with UN oil for food scandal

    NEW YORK, Oct. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- A Virginia oil trading company pleaded guilty on Thursday to charges of scheming to pay over 400,000 US dollars in kickbacks to Iraq for oil purchases made as partof UN oil-for-food program for Iraq.

    Midway Trading, a Virginia-based firm, agreed to pay a fine of250,000 dollars in a plea deal with Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau, the district attorney's office said. Enditem
