BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- A bomb exploded on Wednesday in a branch of Bank Boston in La Plata, a city 50 km south of Buenos Aires, the latest in a series of attacks in a protest against the coming visit of US President George W. Bush, reported local press.

    Argentina has seen a series of attacks targeting US banks and businesses with substantial US investment in the past two weeks.

    The bomb, which injured no one but caused some damage, scattered pamphlets in the bank denouncing Bush's coming for the fourth summit of the Organization of American States (OAS).

    The summit is due to take place between Nov. 4 and Nov. 5 in Mar del Plata, 400 km south of the capital. Bush is expected to arrive in Argentina one day before the event.

    Argentine authorities have strengthened security in the Mar delPlata region and restricted flights there between Nov. 2 and Nov. 6 to only those carrying government officials. Enditem
