BEIJING, Oct. 19 -- The Hong Kong actress-singer Karen Mok will be starring in the Pulitzer Prize and Tony award-winning musical Rent, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a
world tour.
The Asian leg premieres in Singapore on Nov 22 and
will move on to Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul and Taiwan.
Mok will perform alongside a star ensemble of
Broadway actors.
In the musical, which focuses on the trials and
tribulations of a community of artists in bohemian New York, Mok plays the role
of Mimi, an exotic dancer and HIV-positive junkie.
For the actress, Rent presents her with another
opportunity to stretch her range.
Mok has certainly come a long way from her first
musical - she played the part of a dove in Noah's Ark when she was eight years
old. Enditem
