BEIJING, Oct. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- The Information Office of China's State Council will issue a white paper on the country's political democracy Wednesday.

    This will be the first time for the Chinese government to issue a white paper on the political democracy, an official with the office told Xinhua here Tuesday.

    "The white paper, titled Building of Political Democracy in China, will give a detailed account of the inception, development, contents and principles of the country's political democracy," the official said.

    It will also mention the problems the country has to be overcome in its building of political democracy and major steps to be taken to reform its political system, he said.

    The document is divided into 12 parts, including the people's congress system, the system of ethnic regional autonomy, grassroots democracy in the urban and rural areas, respecting and safeguarding human rights, according to the official. Enditem
