WASHINGTON, Oct. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- US Secretary of
State Condoleezza Rice reiterated that she has no intention to run for the
president of the United States in the future.

former Clinton adviser
In an interview taped in London, Rice said in US TV
network NBC's "Meet the Press" program late Sunday that the presidential bid is
"not what I want to do with my life, it's not what I'm going to do with my
life."
She was responding to a Republican TV campaigning ad
aired in New Hampshire which calls for a Rice candidacy.
New Hampshire is the traditional site of the
country's first presidential primary and the ad will also be broadcast soon in
Iowa where the national Republican convention will take place.
Asked by NBC anchor Tim Russert whether she would run
for president in 2008, Rice said she is flattered but would definitely refuse to
do so.
Saying she is "not somebody who wants to run for
office," Rice said now she only thinks of what she needs to do, which is, "to
try and promote American foreign policy, American interests, the president's
democracy agenda at an extraordinary time."
Talking about her party's plan in the next
presidential election, she said, "I'm quite certain that there are going to
bereally fine candidates for president from our party, and I'm looking forward
to seeing them and perhaps supporting them.
"After concluding the current post, Rice said she
wanted to become the commissioner of the National Football League. Another
choice will be returning to the teaching job as a professor, which she used to
be before being invited by Bush to join his administration in 2001.
"Unless I go to the NFL, I'm going back to Stanford
(University)to teach," said Rice.
Despite her persistent dismissal of any presidential
plan, US opinion polls have portrayed the top US diplomat as a leading potential
Republican candidate. Enditem
