NEW DELHI, Oct. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- India Monday sent another train carrying a third consignment of relief material for the earthquake victims of Pakistan, according to Indo-Asian News Service.

The train left from Shakur Basti, one of the smaller railway stations here at 3:00 p.m. and reach Amritsar in Punjab at night with 170 tones of relief material. It will cross over to Lahore Tuesday morning.

The third consignment includes 100 tones of fortified biscuits, 26 tones of blankets, 9.5 tones of plastic sheets, 10 tones of medicine and 250 tents.

Officials of Pakistani foreign office and railways will receive the consignment at Lahore Tuesday.

The second consignment of 86 tones was sent Friday via a special train.

Earlier, an Indian Air Force plane flew 25 tones of relief supplies to Islamabad Oct. 10, marking the first Indian relief effort for Pakistan after the 1971 war.

The Oct. 8 quake killed nearly 40,000 people in Pakistan and some 1,400 in India. Enditem
