ANKARA, Oct. 15 (Xinhuanet)-- At least four people were injured when an explosion occurred at a gas station in Turkey's largest city Istanbul on Saturday evening, the private NTV channel reported.

The explosion took place at the Opet station in the Maslak district of Istanbul at around 7:30 pm (1730 GMT), the report said, adding that the injured have been taken to a hospital.

Witnesses confirmed that a tanker carrying liquefied petroleum gas in the station exploded, causing parts of the station's roof to collapse and injuring four people, one of them was in serious condition.

According to NTV, there was no fire after the explosion occurred and police sealed off the area.

An ambulance and firefighters has been sent to the scene. An investigation into the explosion is underway, said the report. Enditem
