BAGHDAD, Oct. 15 (Xinhuanet) -- Polling stations closed at 5 p.m.(1400 GMT) on Saturday after Iraqis cast votes in a national referendum on the draft constitution.
Over 6,000 voting centers opened across Iraq at 7 a.m. (04:00GMT) on Saturday. Some 15.5 million Iraqis, out of the 26 million population, were eligible to vote.
Under Iraq's interim constitution, if the charter is approved in Saturday's referendum, parliamentary elections will be held on Dec. 15. Enditem
