Dutch MPs receive death threats
www.chinaview.cn 2005-10-14 02:29:19

BRUSSELS, Oct. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- Two Dutch members of parliament (MPs) have received death threats, Dutch media reported Thursday.

Populist Geert Wilders and conservative Ayaan Hirsi Ali have been under permanent police protection since last year.

The two MPs reported the death threats to police last week following a message from the telephone tip-line Report Crime Anonymously, Radio Netherlands reported.

An anonymous caller reported that the two MPs would be assassinated on Nov. 2, the first anniversary of the killing of filmmaker Theo van Gogh.

"I have no idea of the background to the threat and would like to know precisely what is going on," Hirsi Ali was quoted as saying by De Telegraaf newspaper. Enditem
