Palestine: Report on Arafat's death to be released
www.chinaview.cn 2005-10-13 00:43:18

RAMALLAH, Oct. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei announced on Wednesday that a report on the investigation into the death of late leader Yasser Arafat will be released soon.

Qurei told reporters in the West Bank city of Ramallah that the report included what the special committee, charged with investigating Arafat's death, has reached, as well as a brief of the medical reports by the French military hospital of Percy where Arafat spent his last days.

But the prime minister said no final conclusions about the reasons of Arafat's death were arrived at.

"Neither the French medical reports, nor the Palestinian reports managed to come to the exact reasons that led to Arafat's death," Qurei said.

He said investigations did not show that Arafat was poisoned, but the Palestinian committee and the French doctors could not rule out the possibility that Arafat might have been poisoned.

Long-time Palestinian leader Arafat passed away on Nov. 11, 2004 after a two-week treatment in the Percy hospital.

No official reports on the exact reasons of his death have been released so far and some speculate that Arafat might be poisoned by Israeli agents.  Enditem
