GAZA, Oct. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- The postponed summit between Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will be held after Ramadan, Israel's Channel II reported Tuesday.

Ramadan, a month-long feast for Muslims, falls on the ninth month of Islam's calendar, and this year's Ramadan will end by the first week of November.

The report quoted Israeli official sources from Sharon Bureau as saying that the summit, originally slated for this week, was postponed due to unresolved issues between the two sides, but would be held after Abbas returns from the a US trip.

Abbas will head to Washington on Oct. 20 to meet US President George W. Bush at the White House and US Secretary of StateCondoleezza Rice, according to the sources.

Earlier, the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) said Abbas will also visit France on his way to Washington, where he will meet French President Jacques Chirac at the latter's invitation. Enditem
