SHANGHAI, Oct. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- Shanghai opened its first auto shuttle restaurant Tuesday, providing fastfood services for the driving group.
The restaurant, founded by the Shanghai Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Co. Ltd, is a cylinder-shaped three-storey building.
Apart from the indoor restaurant, it especially designed a fastfood getting driveway for those who have no time to eat out of cars.
The drivers will drive withershins, ordering the food at the entrance and getting them at the exit. The whole process only takes about two minutes.
Lu Jiulong, president of the Shanghai KFC Co. Ltd, said to bring convenience to the expanding driving group is the main reason for them to open this restaurant.
Currently, more than 842,000 vehicles are running on the streets of Shanghai, 609,000 of which are cars and half are privately owned.
"We will open more auto shuttle restaurants not only in Shanghai but also in all major cities in China," Lu said.
China's first auto shuttle restaurant opened in 2002 in Beijing and the one in Shanghai is the second. Enditem |
