www.chinaview.cn 2005-10-08 22:51:47

GAZA, Oct. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian militants vowed on Saturday to keep their arms, accusing any attempt to disarm them by force of treason.

The factions made the announcement at a press conference in Gaza City after they signed a national covenant of honor aimed at protecting their right of armed resistance against Israel.

The covenant was signed by Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas),Palestine National Liberation Movement (Fatah), Islamic Jihad (Holy War), Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP),Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) and Popular Resistance Committee.

The covenant said the factions will protect the national unity and solve any internal disputes through dialogue, but warned at the same time of any Palestinian attempt to denounce the factions' response to Israel's aggressions.

The covenant also reiterated the militants' commitment to calmness reached by 13 Palestinian factions at the Cairo Dialoguein March. Enditem
