RAMALLAH, Oct. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Izeedein al-Shareef, Palestinian governor of the West Bank city of Tulkarem, said on Saturday that he would never let the mounting chaos, indiscipline and lawlessness prevailing in Gaza be imported to his area.

Al-Shareef's remarks came after militants abducted three leaders of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the West Bank on Thursday and freed them on Friday.

These actions are condemned and rejected by our people, he said, stressing that "law, order and discipline must be implemented as soon as possible and Palestinian blood is prohibited."

Three Hamas leaders were abducted on Thursday by a group of unknown militants from their homes in the West Bank cities ofTulkarem, Bethlehem and Hebron, who were released on Friday.

Hamas movement in the West Bank held demonstrations on Friday and accused the Palestinian security intelligence for being behind the kidnapping, which has been denied and rejected by the security apparatus.

A group calling itself the Brigades of al-Farooq Omer Ben al-Khattab has claimed responsibility for the abduction, explaining that the abduction came as Hamas violated the law and attacked the Palestinian police.

A status of chaos, deterioration of security and lawlessness has recently dominated the Palestinian territories, mainly in the Gaza Strip after Israel withdrew from the region in September.
