Washington Monument evacuated over bomb threat

    WASHINGTON, Oct. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- An unknown bomb threat forced the evacuation of the Washington Monument early Friday Afternoon, CNN reported.

    The bomb threat was called in to local police early afternoon, and local authorities and the police evacuated all the areas surrounding the monument.

    An initial search turned up nothing worrisome, local media reported. Enditem
