BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Three homemade bombs exploded Thursday in the outskirts of Buenos Aires in a protest against the coming visit of US President George W. Bush, hurting nobody.

The attacks, all on US interests, destroyed two cash machines of Citibank and a Blockbuster video-rental store, said the police.

At the explosion sites, pamphlets carrying words such as "No to Bush in Argentina" were found. Two unknown groups -- the so-called Commander Che Guevara Anti-Imperialist Commando and Colonel Dorrego Group -- claimed responsibility for the blasts.

"It seems to me that Bush's presence in Argentina is going to cause reactions but hopefully not with this type of violence," said Governor Felipe Sola of Buenos Aires province.

He told the press that it is probable that anti-globalization protesters are behind these attacks.

On Wednesday, the White House confirmed that Bush will participate in the fourth Summit of the Americas, scheduled for Nov. 4-5 in the city of Mar del Plata, some 400 km south of BuenosAires.

Argentine authorities have turned Mar del Plata into a fortressguarded by 7,000 police agents and soldiers for the security of the 34 dignitaries of the continent.

The event is expected to draw together all the heads of government or state of the Americas with the exception of Cuban President Fidel Castro.

The Argentine government has hinted at the possibility of shooting down any aircraft embarking on hostile maneuvers in the restricted air space of Mar del Plata. Enditem
