Lau eyes production with HK big-names
www.chinaview.cn 2005-10-06 15:14:08

BEIJING, Oct.6 -- Andy Lau says he wants to make a movie with fellow big-name Hong Kong stars Jackie Chan, Chow Yun-fat, Stephen Chow and Tony Leung and would even pay for it himself.

Lau told reporters he thinks the collaboration would match any production in Asia, or even outside the continent for that matter.

"He said if the stars can work together, we won't lose to any Asian movies or even foreign films," Lau spokeswoman Alice Tam said Tuesday.

Lau's comments came in response to a plea from Chan urging Hong Kong's film industry to be more united, Tam said.

Lau said if no one was willing to put up the production money, he'd back it.

"I'll invest in it even if it means going broke," Tam quoted him as saying.
