LUXEMBOURG, Oct. 3 (Xinhuanet) -- Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul were on their way to Luxembourg to attend the ceremony of launching the accession talks with the European Union (EU), Turkish sources told Xinhua here on Monday.
As Austria dropped its objection to Turkey's future full membership earlier on Monday, the EU sent a draft text on launching the talks to Ankara for discussion.
Turkish sources said Ankara has accepted the text, but an official nod has not yet made.
EU presidency Britain had originally arranged the launching ceremony at 5 pm Monday local time, but the timetable had to be postponed because no agreement had reached before the time. Enditem
