KUWAIT CITY, Oct. 3 (Xinhuanet) -- Kuwait expressed hope on Monday that Arab League (AL) chief Amr Moussa's coming visit to Iraq will be successful in convening a reconciliation conference grouping all factions under the AL auspices.

"By dispatching Moussa, the Arab role has been promoted to new stages in dealing with the situation in Iraq", Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Al-Sabah said, quoted by the official KUNA news agency.

Sheikh Mohammed said Iraq has showed readiness to provide all possible means to secure success of Moussa's mission.   On Sunday, an Arab committee, comprising Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt and Syria, in addition to Moussa, held a meeting in the Saudi city of Jedda to discuss the situation in Iraq.

Following the meeting, Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisalsaid that Moussa will head to Baghdad soon.

The committee was formed with the aim of drawing a unified Arab strategy to support Iraq. Enditem
