MOSCOW, Sept. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- International Criminal Police Commission (Interpol) is seeking the arrest and extradition of 75 terrorists wanted by Russia, the head of Interpol's bureau under the Russian Interior Ministry said on Thursday.

"Over 15 years of cooperation with the Interpol, we've had 160 criminals extradited to Russia, who were detained by the Interpol," Timur Lakhonin told a news conference.

More than 100 out of the 160 criminals have been extradited in the past three or four years after Russia joined the European convention on extradition, Lakhonin was quoted by Itar-Tass as saying.

At the same time, Russia also extradited 80 criminals wanted by foreign states.

The Interpol's database of the wanted lists 60,000 persons, among them 9,000 are wanted by the Russian police, the report said.

The fight against money-laundering is one of the most important activities of the Interpol, according to Lakhonin. Enditem
