BAGHDAD, Sept. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- One bodyguard of Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr was killed when a bomb exploded in his house in Najaf on Wednesday, police said.

"The explosion occurred at around 7:10 p.m. (1510 GMT) in Najaf, 160 km south of Baghdad. One family member of the bodyguard was also killed," an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

On Sunday, at least eight followers of al-Sadr were killed when his Mehdi Army clashed with US troops in Sadr City, east of Baghdad. Enditem
