www.chinaview.cn 2005-09-26 09:54:25

CARACAS, Sept. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez announced Sunday that the new National Armed Force law will come into force as of the coming Monday.

The law is aimed at maintaining Venezuela's territorial integrity and national sovereignty, said Chavez in a television program.

It sets regulations on military mobilization and building military reserve, he noted.

According to the new law, Venezuela's defense force consists of three parts: regular armed forces, military reserves and militias. All the troops have the task to resist internal or external threats. Enditem
