Israeli army strikes on Gaza car, at least 2 killed

GAZA, Sept. 25 (Xinhuanet) - At least two militants were killed and three injured on Sunday night as an Israeli army rocket hit a local car that drove in the southern part of Gaza City closed to the beach side, Palestinian security sources reported.

The sources said that the shelling on the car could come from the sea, where naval Israeli army gunship boats were seen sailing on the shores of the city, or it could be an Israeli drone which fired the rocket at the car.

They added that when the car was hit by the rocket, an Israeli F16 warplane flew over the city and carried out an illusory airstrike that made a huge explosion.

Medics at Shiffa Hospital said that the two killed are members in the Saraya Al-Quds, armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement. One of them was Sheikh Mohamed Sheikh Khalil, commander of the group in the city and another was his assistant.

They said that ambulances rushed to the place where the car was targeted and began to evacuate the two bodies and three other wounded and took them to the hospital for treatment. Enditem
