KIEV, Sept. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Ukraine's parliament on Tuesday narrowly rejected the nomination of Yury Yekhanurov as new prime minister.
The rejection of Yekhanurov, a technocrat and President Viktor Yushhenko's long-time loyalist, dealt a blow to embattled Yushchenko, who sacked his cabinet two weeks ago after calling it too divided to continue work.
Yekhanurov needed 226 votes for his nomination to be confirmed, but got three votes less in the 450-seat chamber. Enditem |
