Indonesia prepares 44 hospitals for bird flu

    JAKARTA, Sept. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- Indonesia prepares 44 hospitals across the country to cope with the development of the pandemic bird flu, health ministry official said here Monday.

    I Nyoman Kandun, director general of contagious diseases and environmental health control, said the country has prepare 44 hospitals for patients of bird flu, and to detect the disease.

    He said that the hospitals has a special part that isolated from others.

    Indonesian Health Ministry Siti Supari Fadilah reminded earlier that the spread of the disease in the country had reached to an extraordinary level.

    She said that the 44 hospitals could immediately detect the spread of the H5N1 virus soon, so their spread to the people couldbe decline.

    "So we can find the virus that is attacking on human as soon as possible," she said.

    The virus has killed four people in Indonesia recently, putting the total death to 63 in Asia, and now three children in the country are suspected from the lethal disease.

    The virus has attacked chickens and pigs in Indonesia, which lead the authorities to slaughtered millions of the poultry.

    Earlier the health minister also warned of other possible attacks of the disease. Enditem
