Palestinians reject Arab normalizing ties with Israel

GAZA, Sept. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian National Anti-Normalization Committee stressed on Sunday that the Palestinians are against Arab and Islamic countries' normalizing relations with Israel.

Committee chief Omar Shallah called upon Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia to deny media reports that they gave the green light for Pakistan to normalize its ties with Israel.

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf earlier said at a meeting of the International Jewish Congress that he intended to establish full diplomatic relations with Israel in accordance with any political progress on the Palestinian issue.

"My country poses no threat to Israel as we have no differences at all, and I believe that Israel has the right to live in peace,"Musharraf said.

Shallah praised the Pakistani people for rejecting Musharraf's statements and normalization of relations with Israel.

Shallah announced that the committee planned to hold a conference against normalizing relations with Israel in October.Enditem
