Iranian president says will not pursue nuclear weapons

    UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in an address to the UN General Assembly on Saturday, reiterated that Iran will not develop nuclear weapons.

    "The Islamic Republic of Iran repeats its previously and repeatedly declared position that in accordance with our religious principles, pursuit of nuclear weapons is prohibited," said Ahmadinejad during the assembly's general debate. Enditem
