LIMA, Sept. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- The Bolivian government closed three airports in the early hours Wednesday because of intense rains and dense fog, according to reports from Bolivia's administrative capital, La Paz.

Snow and fog covered airports in EI Alto, Sucre and Tarija, preventing planes from landing and taking-off, spokesmen for the Autonomous Administration of Auxiliary Air Navigation of Bolivia said.

Plane departures were delayed, and arrivals were moved to Cochabamba and Santa Cruz, the spokesmen said.

A cold wave swept Bolivia with torrential rains, heavy winds and intense frost, they said. Enditem
