DOHA, Qatar, Sept. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- China used its second-string team to overwhelm Saudi Arabia 98-10, with Yao Ming resting on thebench to watch China enter the semi-final of the Asian Men's Basketball Championships here on Wednesday.

    Yao, whose jaw was cut to blood and had four stitches in Tuesday's win over Lebanon, did not even change his jersey for theper-game warm-up.

    He had another bind-up Wednesday for his cut, but team doctor Du Wenliang said the Houston Rockets center had no problem to play.

    Saudi Arabia scored four points in the first quarter and two for each of the following quarters.

    Tang Zhendong, who had 12 points and nine rebounds, missed a tip-in and Zhang Yunsong missed a 3-pointer down the stretch as China failed to score its first 100 points in the tournament.

    Reserved center Mo Ke had game-high 21 points and nine reboundswhile the whole Saudi Arabian team grabbed only nine rebounds and was fruitless on 21 3-pointer attempts.

    "Saudi Arabia shouldn't have played like this. I don't know why. Maybe they are afraid of us," said China's head coach Jonas Kaslauskas.

    "I don't think today's win does any good to our game. Tomorrowthere will be a complete different game. I'm afraid my players will feel relaxed after the win," Kaslauskas said.

    The winner of the matches between Iran and South Korea on Wednesday will face the three-time defending champion China in the semi-final. Enditem
