French president to visit India next year

กก  PARIS, Sept. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- French President Jacques Chirac will visit India on Feb. 20 and 21, 2006, at the invitation of visiting Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, said a joint statement between the two countries.

    "The French president warmly accepts the prime minister's invitation to visit on February 20-21, 2006," it said.

    The statement noted that the governments of the two countries attach importance to the exchange of high level visits between thetwo countries.

    Chirac visited India in 1998.

    Singh is the first foreign leader received by Chirac after his one-week hospitalization for a vascular incident. Enditem
