BAGHDAD, Sept. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- Jordan's
Prime Minister Adnan Badran made a surprising visit to Baghdad on Saturday, the
first visit by an top Arab official since the US-led Iraqi War in March
2003, Qatar-based al-Jazeera TV channel reported.
Badran is also the highest-ranking Jordanian official to visit Baghdad since Iraq's former Saddam Hussein regime was toppled by the US-led coalition forces.
According to media reports, the Jordanian premier, accompanied by Foreign Minister Faruq Kassrawi, made the previously unannounced visit with an aim to lend Arab support for the Iraqi government. Enditem |
