UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 7 (Xinhuanet)-- The Second World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments opened Wednesday in the UN headquartersin New York, which drew the attendance of parliament speakers frommore than 150 countries and regional parliamentary organizations.     

    Convened on the eve of UN summit scheduled for Sept.14 at the same venue, the current meeting will deliberate on parliaments' involvement in international affairs, and their contribution to democracy. The conference is expected to provide direct input to the coming UN summit. Enditem
