HK to remake Shanghai Beach
www.chinaview.cn 2005-09-07 14:24:11

BEIJING, Sept. 7 --  The 24-episode, 1982 TV drama "Shanghai Beach", staring the big Chinese names Chow Yun-fat and Gigi Zhao, has moved and impressed many Chinese audiences in the past two decades.

A new version of the drama, led by Hong Kong popular lady killer Daniel Wu(ÎâÑå׿) and Taiwan actress Alyssa Chia(¼Ö¾²ö©), is scheduled to start shooting before the end of this year.

Although there are already many versions of it, including the 1995 film version starring Leslie Cheung and Andy Lau, none of them received as good a response as the original.

Alyssa Chia, who gave birth to a baby girl just two months ago, will play the female lead Feng Chengcheng, and Daniel Wu will replaced Chow Yun-fat as Xu Wenqiang.
