JAKARTA, Sept. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Indonesian air carrier Mandala Airlines, whose plane crashed Monday morning with 117 people onboard, claimed that six passengers survived the country's worst air disaster in five years.

The company released six names of passengers who were undergoing medical treatment at two hospitals in the North Sumatra capital of Medan.

The survivors were identified as Rohadi Sitepu, Fredy Ismail, Harapan Oloan, Jenny, Rusdi and Thomas Tendean.

Minister of Transportation Hatta Radjasa earlier estimated that all 117 passengers aboard the plane were killed.

The Boeing 737-200, shortly after take-off from the Polonia Airport, crashed into a residential area 500 meters away from theair port and hit dozens of houses and vehicles before it burst into flame.  Enditem
