JAKARTA, Sept. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Indonesian air
carrier Mandala Airlines, whose plane crashed Monday morning with 117 people
onboard, claimed that six passengers survived the country's worst air disaster
in five years.
The company released six names of passengers who were
undergoing medical treatment at two hospitals in the North Sumatra capital of
Medan.
The survivors were identified as Rohadi Sitepu, Fredy
Ismail, Harapan Oloan, Jenny, Rusdi and Thomas Tendean.
Minister of Transportation Hatta Radjasa earlier
estimated that all 117 passengers aboard the plane were killed.
The Boeing 737-200, shortly after take-off from the
Polonia Airport, crashed into a residential area 500 meters away from theair
port and hit dozens of houses and vehicles before it burst into flame.
