PARIS, Sept 4 (Xinhuanet) - Ten people were killed and 14 others seriously injured when fire broke out in an apartment building in a southern Paris suburb overnight, Paris firefighters said Sunday.

    Over 20 fire engines were rushed to the scene, an 18-storey block in the town of Hay-les-Roses in the Val-de-Marne area.

    The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

    On Aug. 26, a fire in an apartment block, where mostly African immigrant families lived, killed 14 African immigrant children andthree adults. Three days later,another fire in a rundown building claimed the lives of seven people.

    In April, a blaze raced through a hotel close to the old opera and the main Paris department stores, killing 24 Africans who werein France without valid papers. Enditem
