KABUL, Sept. 3 (Xinhuanet) -- Taliban militants executed a candidate and four others abducted from Ghorak district of southern Kandahar province Saturday, the movement's spokesman said.
"The High Council of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (name of the former fundamentalist regime) has identified the five as criminals and condemned them to death, and we shot them dead," Abdul Latif Hakimi told local reporters from unknown location.
Suspected militants in their latest violent attacks took away five persons including three policemen, one candidate for the coming September 18 parliamentary elections and a district chief nomination from Ghorak late Friday.
