GAZA, Aug. 31 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian Islamic resistance group Hamas denied
on Wednesday that a meeting would be held between its leaders and the
Palestinian National Authority (PNA) officials in one of the Gulf countries.
Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri told reporters that the news thata secret
meeting between Hamas and PNA would be held in a Gulf country is totally false.
Palestinian media earlier reported that a secret meeting between PNA and
Hamas would be held soon to coincide with visit to this Gulf country by senior
American and European officials.
However, Abu Zuhri disclosed that Hamas accepted a proposal madeby the Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman to hold a series of meetings in Cairo, Egypt, involving all Palestinian factions following the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. Enditem |
