HONG KONG, Aug. 31 (Xinhuanet) -- A strong earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale hit Honshu of Japan at 2:17 a.m. (1817 GMT)on Wednesday, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.
The epicenter was initially determined to be at seas east of Honshu, that is 38.7 north latitude, 142.8 east longitude, about 210 kilometers east-northeast of Sendai. Enditem |
