Minister of India Manmohan Singh and his host Afghanistan's President Hamid
Karzai Sunday called on regional countries to collaborate in war against terror.
"Terrorism poses a threat to civilized existence and
therefore we have an obligation to work together to deal with this
menace,"Premier Manmohan Singh told journalists at a joint news conference with
President Karzai.
Reaffirming his government commitment in supporting the post-war Afghanistan, the Indian Prime Minister loudly announced that New Delhi was ready to assist Afghan administration in all fields if necessary.
"We have to strengthen the economy of Afghanistan. We have to ensure that the democratic process, which is under way and moves forward smoothly. So, whatever help that the government of Afghanistan may ask for we will be very happy to consider," Singh noted.

"It is for the government and for the people of
Afghanistan toindicate to us what type of help is required. We are ready to
offer that sort of assistance," he told media at Afghan Presidential Palace
attended by civil and military Afghan officials as well as diplomats.
Karzai, for his part besides thanking Indian
government for itscontribution in rebuilding the war-torn central Asian state,
emphasized regional cooperation in war against terror.
"With the help of the international community and the
great desire of Afghan people, terrorism was defeated in Afghanistan. Wehope
that all of us will work together to remove this menace from this region and
from the world at large," Karzai said.
Earlier, both the leaders at one-on-one meeting
exchanged views on matters pertaining mutual interests including rebuilding
process of Afghanistan, bilateral relations, war against terrorismand regional
situation.
Singh, who has received a red carpet welcome, is the
first-everIndian Premier visiting Afghanistan in almost three decades.
During his two-day stay here, Singh met with Afghan
leaders andwould also attend a groundbreaking ceremony of Afghanistan's
parliament building on Monday.
India has committed 25 million US dollars for the
construction of the new building in post-conflict Afghanistan.
