NPC adopts draft amendment to law on women's rights protection

    BEIJING, Aug. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- The draft amendment to the law on women's rights protection was adopted by the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress (NPC) on Sunday.

    Prohibition of sexual harassment was for the first time included in China's law.

    And gender equality was designated as one of the country's basic national policies, according to the amended law.

    The six-day 17th meeting of the 10th NPC Standing Committee concluded on Sunday. Enditem
