NPC adopts draft law on penalties for offenses against public order

    BEIJING, Aug. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) on Sunday adopted the draft law on penalties for offenses against public order after the third reading.

    According to the law, the penalty of detention does not apply to an offender under age 18 for the first offense against public order.

    The six-day-long 17th meeting of the 10th NPC Standing Committee was concluded on Sunday. Enditem
