KAZAN, Russia, Aug. 27 (Xinhuanet) -- Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus -- three member states of the Common Economic Space (CES) have agreed to sign a package of basic documents before Dec. 1, 2005 without Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Saturday.
"We agreed that by December 1 we will sign 29 documents between Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, and another 15 documents by March 1, 2006," Putin said after the meeting of the CES leaders.
Ukraine, also a member state of the CES, is not ready for the creation of a supranational supervision body within the organization. "We can not get a sanction from the Ukrainian parliament to create a supranational body, and this is to be takeninto account," Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said here.
However, Putin reportedly said Yushchenko is willing to join the work gradually. He also said these documents will improve economic relations, help create single custom rules and deepen the integration processes within the framework of the CES.
The presidents of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine announced the intention to establish a free-trade zone on Feb. 23,2003 and signed a relevant agreement on Sept. 19 of that year.
The four presidents of the CES member countries adopted a listof 29 documents at the summit in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan on Sep. 15, 2004.
The 29 agreements are expected to form a single package and come into effect simultaneously after being signed, according to asource of the Kremlin administration. Enditem
