VIENNA, Aug. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- A senior Iranian nuclear official is expected to meet with the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) here on Friday.

According to IAEA spokesman Melissa Fleming on Thursday, Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani is on his way to Vienna.

"I can confirm that Ali Larijani is coming and that he will be meeting with (IAEA Director-General) Dr. (Mohamed) el Baradei tomorrow morning," said Fleming.

"They will be discussing safeguard implementation issues," he added.

The IAEA has called on Iran to halt its atomic work that was resumed in August. Enditem
