BAQUBA, Iraq, Aug. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- Gunmen opened fire at Iraqi civilians in a popular cafe in Abu Sayda town, northeast of Baghdad, on Thursday, killing five people and wounding eight others, police said.

"Five people were killed and eight others wounded, mostly elderly men, when armed men opened fire at a cafe in the town of Abu Sayda," a police source, from the Joint Coordination Center in Baquba, told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The motive of the attack was not immediately clear, the source said, adding the incident is under investigation.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi army defused a booby-trapped vehicle in the same town without casualties, the source added. Enditem
